Netflix's 'Bloodhounds' Season 2 Hits No. 1 on Global Non-English Series Chart — Enters TOP 10 in 80 Countries
Netflix original series ‘Bloodhounds’ Season 2 has claimed the No. 1 spot on the global TOP 10 series (non-English) chart. According to weekly data released by Netflix for the period of April 6–12, Bloodhounds Season 2 recorded 7.4 million views worldwide, achieving the highest performance among non-English shows.
All episodes of Season 2 were released simultaneously on April 3. Immediately following its release, it drew an explosive response, entering the Netflix TOP 10 in 92 countries and reaching No. 1 in 16 countries. In its second week, it held the top spot in 14 countries, including South Korea, and appeared on the TOP 10 list in a total of 80 countries, continuing the success story of Season 1.
In Season 2, Woo Do-hwan, Lee Sang-yi, and Rain have reunited. The story follows Gun-woo (Woo Do-hwan) and Woo-jin (Lee Sang-yi), who previously took down a heinous illegal loan shark ring in Season 1, as they now face off against a global illegal boxing league. The larger scale and intense action sequences are being credited for the positive reception from global viewers.
Meanwhile, the global success of Bloodhounds Season 2 has given a green light to the production of Season 3. According to industry sources, Netflix and the production company have already begun discussions regarding Season 3, and scheduling for the lead actors is currently underway.
April 2026 is seeing unprecedented competition in the K-Drama market. Major titles are being scheduled simultaneously, waiting for viewer selection, including Netflix’s ‘Bloodhounds Season 2’, MBC’s ‘21st Century Grand Princess’ (starring IU and Byeon Woo-seok), Netflix’s ‘We All Endure Here’ (starring Koo Kyo-hwan and Go Yoon-jung), and SBS’s ‘Sold Out on You’ (starring Ahn Hyo-seop and Chae Won-bin).
In particular, the MBC Friday-Saturday drama ‘21st Century Grand Princess’ is the first co-starring project for IU and Byeon Woo-seok, and it has been topping buzzworthiness indices since its first broadcast on April 10. There is also high anticipation for Korea’s first Young Adult horror series, ‘If Wishes Could Kill’ (Girigo), which is scheduled for release on Netflix on April 24.
As the global influence of K-Drama continues to expand, the success of Bloodhounds Season 2 is being evaluated as a case that once again proves the competitiveness of Korean action genre dramas.
